After you let us know what content you would like on your site, we will send you a quote which will be valid for 60 days. If you decide to proceed, we will need you to sign the contract, send it back to us with a 50% downpayment, and send us the content for the site. We will register the domain name(s) you have chosen and create the homepage of the website. After you have approved the homepage design, we will finish the rest of the site. You will be billed for the other 50% of the cost after the site is completed, uploaded, and approved.
A simple site can be constructed in about a week. More complex and elaborate sites such as those with shopping carts are usually finished within 2 weeks, depending on how many other requests we have received and how much information you have given us to get started.
If you have not already registered a domain name, tell us what you would like, and we will register it for you. Please include a few alternative choices, in case what you would like has already been registered. You will be billed $25 per domain name per year. Within 24-48 hours your domain will be ready to use. If you would like to buy several domain names and have them all point to one website (with only one monthly hosting fee), we can park them for free.
Currently, no. We have had problems in the past with other website hosting providers not supporting the scripts that we use. We need to be able to have root access to your server and be able to make whatever changes are necessary. Utilizing our hosting ensures that all of the scripts, code, and databases on your site will work properly.
Yes, we have many clients who create their own websites and use our hosting.
Whenever you need to make changes, email or call us with the information. Your site will be changed as soon as possible, normally within 24 hours, and you will be billed once a month. Changes are $40 per hour, except for minor changes, which are free. Minor changes are those which take 10 minutes or less to complete.
Yes, you can maintain your own website. Many clients choose to use Microsoft FrontPage. This is an inexpensive and user-friendly program, and all of our customers' websites automatically have Microsoft Frontpage server extensions added. You may also use any other website development software or FTP, but please let us know if you will be using FTP access to upload your site, as this can interfere with FrontPage server extensions. Please note that if you work on your own site, you will be responsible for maintaining your own backup copy of the site.
Spammers will start to pick up on your email address as soon as your site is published. The best way around this is to add spam filters to your email address(es). For only $15 a year per email address, you can greatly reduce the number of junk messages you receive. This can also help you avoid picking up computer viruses, which are often caught by opening up junk email.
You will be sent a bill in the mail that explains how much you owe and what the charges are for. You can then send a check or money order made payable to Carrie's Creations Inc. You may also pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or PayPal here.
Accounts which are 30 days past due may be suspended; if payment is still not received after 60 days from the initial due date the account will be terminated. To reactivate the account when it is suspended, payment must be made in full. Accounts that have been terminated can be reactivated by paying the outstanding balance and a $25 service charge to set up a new hosting account and republish the site. We do not shut sites off without notifying you first. You will be sent invoice reminders through regular mail and email to remind you that your account is past due, and we will always try to call you before terminating your account. If an account is terminated with an outstanding balance, the domain name(s) cannot be transferred until the account is paid in full. After 90 days, domains are forfeited and become the property of Carrie’s Creations Inc.
